Dear Members:
As this is my first official Communiqué as President of the Denver Chapter, I wish to start by giving a heartfelt thank you to the 2008-2009 Officers for their dedication and commitment to SDA and this Chapter! Your guidance has seen our Chapter through tough challenges in the past 12 months and we have immerged stronger and more cohesive than ever!
I also have to thank all of you, our Chapter members. Our Chapter is only as strong as our members and SDA Denver would not be what it is without all of us coming together, believing in the Society’s vision and ourselves. SDA Denver is not a Chapter of 1 person or 5 people. It is what it is because we are all dedicated to turning a job into career and it is up to us to guarantee the successful continuation of the SDA vision.
With the summer months upon us, it is an opportunity to step outside and enjoy family vacations, outdoor activities, work on home projects, and of course have some much needed R&R. Still, our industry continues as a living, breathing entity and as our economy pulls itself out of the downward trend, we must remain alert to all opportunities available that will not only enrich ourselves but our firms as well.
SDA Denver is always in need of new ideas and member participation. I encourage everyone to experience successful, professional, and personal relationships through your SDA Denver Chapter.
Announcements:
Congratulations to Karen Roman, CDFA, LEED AP as our new National President-Elect! We know you will be terrific! Please show Karen your support as she takes on this new position on the SDA National Executive Committee! Way to go!!
SDA Member Forums: As you know, the SDA ListServ is no longer active. Instead, we now have Member Forums available for discussions and announcements. I urge all of you to please take a few minutes to log into the national site, set your preferences and explore the new forums. Click here. They have been designed for you in an effort to cut back on back-and-forth email discussions while allowing continuous communication between Chapters, Committees, PEGs and more! Communication is key to a successful Chapter!
It is my pleasure to announce that Debra Ellis, CDFA has offered to step up as Chair of our Chapter’s Scholarship Committee! We know you will be terrific!
Installation:
I want to thank everyone that made the 2009 Installation Ceremony so special for the incoming officers. A special thanks goes to our Special Events Committee – Sally DiSciullo, SDA/C and Jackie Selzer, SDA! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
